Editorial policy
The Skanderly Blog is part of a free Albanian language course. This page explains who prepares our articles and how we keep them accurate.
Who writes and reviews
Our articles are prepared by the Skanderly team, the same people who build the course: lessons, dictionary, grammar guide and phrasebook. Before an article goes live, native speakers review it: a native Albanian teacher checks every Albanian word, phrase and pronunciation, and a native English speaker checks the English text. The project founder signs off the final version.
How we prepare articles
- Topics and sources. We look at what people want to know about Albanian and Albania, then collect material: grammars and textbooks of standard Albanian, dictionaries and official websites.
- Writing. We write in plain language, with examples and pronunciation. We use AI tools to help draft and adapt texts, and a person edits and checks every article.
- Facts. Figures, dates and claims are checked against sources, which are listed at the end of each article.
- Translations. Many articles first appear in Russian and are then adapted for English-speaking readers, not translated word for word. Facts are re-checked for the new version.
- Audio. Albanian phrases come with synthesized speech in standard Albanian.
- Updates. When rules, prices or exchange rates change, we update the article and its “Updated” date.
Sources
We rely on grammars and dictionaries of standard Albanian, official websites of public bodies, banks and organizations, and encyclopedias. We only link to external websites where they help you verify a fact.
Independence
We do not publish paid articles or sell placements. If an article mentions a service, that is our own editorial choice.
